The Secretary of State’s UCC Office will no longer accept UCC records with attachments starting on 6/11/2018.  All collateral must be submitted through the designated field in the electronic filing system.  This is in part of an effort by the filing office to prevent submission of SSN and FEIN information.  Also, be aware that the filing office system may prevent submission of records that include a 9-digit number in the collateral field.  Note that some other states also reject any record that appears to include the debtor’s SSN or FEIN so it is always a good idea to review UCC records before submission to ensure they do not inadvertently contain that information (except in ND and SD).
