WILMINGTON, Del.—CSC, a world leader in business, legal, tax, and domain name security, has made space available for use as a College Student Hub at its downtown Wilmington building—CSC Station. This Student Hub has provided Delaware college students with socially-distanced space to conduct their online courses in the safety of individual offices—complete with Wi-Fi, a sit-stand desk, ergonomic chair, and large ChromecastTM monitor to view their classes.

“CSC has provided secure, professional office space to students confronted with a virtual semester away from their respective college or university campuses—at no charge, and with free parking in the city,” says Scott Malfitano, CSC vice president. “In the wake of COVID-19, we wanted to offer a resource to Delaware college students who couldn’t go back to campus, but needed a quiet, clean, safe space to continue their education.”

Although CSC’s global headquarters and campus have been located outside the city limits for 30-plus years, CSC made an investment to demonstrate support for Wilmington’s redevelopment efforts, purchased the PA Railroad Building at 112 S. French Street, and renamed it CSC Station. It's a 43,000-square-foot historic building with six floors built in 1905 along the Christina riverfront. It stands adjacent to the Wilmington train station served by Amtrak and SEPTA.

The first two floors have been transformed into inspirational and energetic co-working space, including hot desks, event space, and a variety of offices and conference rooms. It’s also an innovation hub available to CSC’s teams around the world. CSC officially opened the doors of CSC Station in the first week of November 2020.

Students using the Hub must adhere to cleanliness and conduct standards set by CSC, including wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing, cleaning work spaces, and reporting any suspected COVID-19 exposure. CSC Station has hosted students from Arcadia, Columbia University, Goldey-Beacom College, Syracuse University Law School, University of North Carolina, and Widener Law School so far.

“Being able to work from CSC Station saved my semester. Our campus is completely shut down—we can’t even use the library—so being able to go to an office has given me a sense of normalcy. It’s been a huge help, and you can’t beat this location!” says Siena Cerra, Widener University Delaware Law School, J.D. candidate, 2022. “I needed a quiet space to work away from my roommates and other distractions at home. Having a private office with natural light and a giant flat screen to log into for my classes has been unbeatable. I feel like I’m in a corporate job already, and I’ve even been able to interview for spring and summer clerkships from my space at CSC Station, which is much more professional than interviewing from my kitchen table.”

The Student Hub is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Interested parties should send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
