Kaitlyn Mannix

There are so many different areas of growth and opportunity at CSC. Even if you don’t officially move into a role, that doesn’t mean that you can’t learn different things.

What’s your full title and how long have you been in this position?

I’m a project partner for our Internal Projects Team in our Digital Brand Services (DBS) business. I transitioned into that role at the beginning of October 2022.

Give us a little insight into your role and what you do.

The Internal Projects Team is a little unique. We only manage projects for domains that CSC already manages. We focus on internal consolidations, compliance updates, and cleanup projects for any of our existing clients. Originally, client service partners (CSPs) would communicate with clients as well as handle all these tasks, but it became overwhelming, and CSC saw the need for a team to help with the data cleanup and maintenance so our CSPs could focus on what they do best—providing great service to our clients. We take those tasks from the CSPs and act as the point of contact between CSPs and the vendors or registries, who own the domains. This means I get to communicate with people all over the globe. Cleaning up our clients’ portfolios, subscriptions, and contact details, and moving domains from legacy accounts to our preferred accounts, takes a lot of attention to detail to ensure the information is updated accurately. This allows for greater and more efficient management of our clients’ domains.

What other positions have you held at CSC?

I started with CSC at the end of 2016 in the Sacramento office as a workflow coordinator for the Litigation Management Services (LMS) Intake Team. After a while I moved into a dual coaching role for our Intake and Fulfillment teams for the Transactional Team. I wanted to relocate to see what opportunities there were, and I transferred to Tallahassee. I was most recently team leader for the LMS Intake Team and Document Recording Services (DRS) before I moved to DBS.

What has your career growth been like at CSC?

There are so many different areas of growth and opportunity at CSC. Even if you don’t officially move into a role, that doesn’t mean that you can’t learn different things. I’ve really prided myself on being open to different new opportunities and helping other teams. CSC is very supportive of career mobility. It doesn’t matter where you’re located or your background, if you have the mindset to try something new and are good at what you do, you’re encouraged to try new paths.

What makes your team different?

It’s the passion the people have. In DBS, there’s a lot of teamwork that goes on. The team members I work with are always open to questions, which has helped me learn a lot in a short amount of time. They’ve brought me in on several different projects, and that’s really grown my skills as well. One of the things the team values is continual learning, and luckily, CSC has some great resources like LinkedIn Learning.

What do you love most about the culture here?

Besides the people, the growth opportunities are huge. Before I started here, I didn’t know an organization like CSC existed. We really live the motto of “We are the business behind business.” Once you start, I don’t think you really grasp how many different services CSC provides. The opportunity to move to different areas, learn different things, grow your skills, and work with different people is invaluable.

What’s the most interesting thing about working at CSC and your job?

I knew DBS worked with domains, but that was pretty much all I knew. Learning about the sheer volume of domains we handle and all the different specifications those domains require has been really insightful. Working with multiple countries and their different registries and understanding them has been eye-opening.

How is the work-life balance?

My leader is fantastic. She really cares about us as individuals and wants to make sure we have a work-life balance. We have a team huddle every morning where we can talk about our responsibilities, any meetings we have, or if we are leaving early for appointments, etc. The team really comes together to support each other and ensure everything is covered.

What opportunities do you see developing in DBS in the next few years?

There’s going to be a lot of growth and there will be a lot of changes to regulations. Cybersecurity is a huge priority and will only be more of a concern moving forward. Companies are looking at their systems, websites, and domains and seeing how they’re being protected, and CSC is the best in the business! If anyone is interested in IT or any sort of project management, I’d highly recommend DBS. You might be a subject matter expert in one area, and you could transfer a lot of those skills and insights into DBS. And you also get to learn something new.

What advice would you give someone interested in a career at CSC?

Be open. Ask questions. Volunteer for opportunities. Again, there are so many different services we provide, there’s something for everyone. When you start working here, interact with people. Talk to your co-workers in your office and find out what they’re doing. It might not be something you’re necessarily interested in, but you never know what’s going to come out of that. That’s how I’ve met and worked with a lot of different people across the business— just by being open to different things.
