What’s your full title and how long have you been in your current position?

After being a strategic account manager (SAM) for seven years, I was promoted in 2022 as the head of Strategic Accounts for the DACHIT region in Wiesbaden, Germany, leading our Account Management Team there.

Have you held any other positions with CSC before the one you have now?

I started at CSC as an administrative assistant in 2006 then moved to client service partner in 2008 before my SAM role and current role.

What kind of work did you do before joining CSC?

Before joining CSC, I was a legal assistant at a small law firm. Before I came into this industry, I never realized how huge it was. My father still says he has no idea what I do all day. But CSC teaches you everything you need to know. There are training materials, and you’ll get to know the industry from the bottom to the top and everything will be explained to you. It doesn’t matter where you come from. If you share the same values and corporate culture, then you can learn everything you need to know for a position within CSC.

What’s your typical day like?

I start my day cleaning up my inbox because there are a lot of emails. The world doesn’t stop when my business day is over; the U.S. is still active. I’ll work on client requests and prepare for the day, which might include client meetings, preparing slide decks, or gathering information from different teams to provide to clients.

What makes your team different from other teams?

Honestly, I love my team. Each client has a dedicated Account Management Team connected to them. There’s a client service partner for the daily work. There’s a strategic account manager dedicated to them, and a digital brand consultant is identifying which other services our clients might benefit from to further protect and secure their digital assets. The three of us need to work together to get the best results for our clients and CSC. This close relationship makes the work so much easier. We help and protect each other so we can do our best for our clients.

What gets you excited to start your day at work?

I like to get in touch with my colleagues and work with our clients because the industry is moving so fast. There’s something new to learn every day. I always look forward to our daily huddle to see how my colleagues are doing and find out their plans for the day. I also like it when we have something to brainstorm, because we rely on one another and share information.

What are you learning now and why is it important for your job?

The launch of .AU is a good example, Australia’s extension has always been .COM.AU. This year, Australia decided to launch its .AU extension for a variety of reasons. We’re learning why and also how the launch is structured, who is prioritized to register domain names, and which clients we can register in this phase. There are different things we need to consider to be good consultants for our clients. There are always projects with new launches, new products, or registry changes that we need to communicate to our clients.

What’s something that surprises people when you tell them about your job?

This is an industry very few people know about and people are surprised about what we do to protect and promote major brands. The work is never boring and there’s usually something you haven’t experienced before. No two days are the same and that keeps things very interesting.

What do you like most about the culture at CSC?

With everything that’s gone on with COVID in the last two years, I really like that I have a secure workspace. CSC takes care of its employees, which makes me feel good because I don’t have to worry. I know CSC is taking care and making sure we’re healthy and can work safely. It’s a great working environment, and you get everything you need to do your job properly. You’ll get the necessary training and a mentor. You always have a team that helps you and answers any questions, and you always get support from your leaders. You’ll never be alone.

Our clients need us because we’re the best partner they can have. The level of service we provide, and the heart we put into our clients’ work can’t be done by anyone else. You can only do a great job if you love what you do. And I love what I do.
