What’s your title and how long have you been in your current position?

I’m a Client Accountant, CSC Luxembourg, and joined the CSC family in November 2022.

Give us a little insight into your role and what you do.

As a client accountant, I’m responsible for accounting duties for a portfolio of clients, including bookkeeping, preparing management accounts and yearly financial statements, computation and filing of tax and Value Added Tax returns, communicating with auditors, review of payment instructions, and Banque centrale du Luxembourg (BCL) reporting.

Why did you choose to work for the organization?

Before joining CSC, I worked as an accountant for a management company in Mauritius. I wanted to explore new perspectives and develop my professional skills such as empathy, decision-making, and critical thinking. I applied for an overseas experience and was excited when CSC offered me this opportunity.

What has your career growth looked like here?

CSC taught me that it doesn’t matter where you’re from. Where there is teamwork and team spirit, any task can be accomplished. My manager was supportive from day one. Through my role with CSC, I’ve learned about Luxembourg laws and regulations. In return, I bring commitment and creativity to my job. I’m working toward putting my diverse talents to use and forming mutually beneficial and productive working relationships.

What makes your team different?

On great teams, I believe each member is valued for unique talents and skills. That and having strong team spirit leads us to better problem solving and enhances results. This is what makes us different.

Other than the people, what do you love most about the culture here?

What gets you excited to come to work in the morning?

Knowing that hard work and perseverance will help me achieve greater professional success keeps me going.

What’s the most interesting thing about working here and about the work you do?

I’ve always been fascinated by accounting, and CSC provides me the opportunity to learn more about the field. Recently, I’ve had opportunities to attend seminars on securitization, which is an important step in my career growth. Learning new things is motivating, because I can see future opportunities for development and the potential for advancement in the organization.

Name something—big or small—that you’re good at.

Time management and planning. Using time wisely matters a lot to me. I make a list every day and organize tasks by urgency, ensuring everything is implemented by its deadline.

When you tell people about your job, what’s one thing that surprises them, or gets them excited about the work you do?

Accounting is the perfect career if you want to make a difference and assist clients to grow their business. We solve problems and help clients achieve their business goals. Many professionals and businesses view accounting professionals with high regard because of the value of our knowledge and skill set to the business.

What is the working environment like? How do teams work together?

CSC’s environment is positive. There’s trust and cooperation within and among teams.

What is the work-life balance like?

The work life balance with CSC is perfect. I usually manage to leave the office at a reasonable time. During holidays, I don’t receive office calls or feel the need check work emails. For me, this is good work-life balance.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to join CSC or your team?

I would definitely encourage someone to join CSC as I’ve learned many new things in my role in a short time. CSC promotes communication, commitment, confidence, and coaching. This is what you need for the perfect job!
