What are some significant challenges you've faced as a woman in tech, and how have you overcome them?
As someone early in my tech career, a significant challenge has been building confidence in unfamiliar or high-pressure environments. During my internship, I was often hesitant to speak up or worried about making mistakes around more experienced professionals. I overcame it by staying curious, asking questions, observing my teammates, and gradually contributing more.
Another hurdle was the lack of relatable mentors but connecting with supportive peers and professionals encouraged and inspired me. These experiences taught me the value of persistence, seeking support, and trusting my ability to grow—even in the early stages of my journey.
What strategies have you employed to continually develop your skills and advance your career?
I set goals to explore new tools in the ServiceNow ecosystem, deepen my Power Automate knowledge, and improve scripting skills. I regularly use online learning platforms, tutorials, and documentation to build both technical and problem-solving skills. I keep up with industry trends through blogs, webinars, and tech communities. These strategies have helped me build skills, confidence, and take on more responsibility.
Based on your experience, what advice would you give to other women aspiring to pursue a tech career?
Stay curious and committed to learning. Tech is always evolving, and so should you. Believe in your abilities, ask questions, and surround yourself with mentors and communities that uplift you. Your journey is unique, so don’t compare it to others. Every challenge is a chance to grow stronger and more skilled. With confidence, persistence, and purpose, you won’t just build a career—you’ll help shape a more inclusive and innovative technology industry.
