CSC Summer Interns Get Invaluable Real-World Experience
Jeff Lyons, CSC Senior Communication Specialist
Some college students spend their summers doing things like waiting tables, working as lifeguards, or lounging in the sun. CSC’s interns get real-world experience in their chosen field and a head-start to their careers.
This summer, 27 interns met and collaborated with experts in their field and gave back to their communities. Some also secured full-time positions after graduation. The interns, chosen from more than 10,000 applicants, worked in the U.S., Luxembourg, and Ireland.
Cara Osborne, who is studying advertising at the University of Tennessee, spent her internship with the AML-KYC Onboarding Team at CSC Headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware. This was Cara’s first internship, and she says the in-person experience was her favorite part. “Being in the office environment was super motivating and helped me build connections,” she says. “I learned so much by meeting with the other interns and collaborating with everyone.”
She says the experience far exceeded her expectations. “The environment here is so positive. Once I introduced myself as an intern, people were so welcoming and excited to help with anything I needed,” she says. “I even reached out to people in other departments and to hear more about what they do. Being here has really given me a new perspective for someone who’s about to start their career.”
Stefano Vandi recently received his master of sport management degree from the European Sport Business School in Madrid. The Luxembourg resident worked as a transaction analyst intern with the Capital Markets Team in Luxembourg.
This was Stefano’s fifth internship, and he says he learned more this summer because he felt like part of the team. “I really wanted to push myself and I’ve been more proactive, asking people if they need help,” he says. “This has been a great experience to prepare for life after my studies.”
Joi Blake was a support group intern for CSC Corptax, working remotely in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she attends Fayetteville State University. The accounting major says the highlight of her summer was her team letting her shadow calls with clients.
“They also let me take a support case every day to see how I could help clients with the software and test it in my own environment,” she says. “This internship has helped me become more confident and comfortable with articulating my thoughts when explaining things to my mentor.”
A key part of the internship is a philanthropic project where the students are assigned to teams across business units to support a nonprofit organization of their choice through volunteerism or fundraising. At the end of the internship, they met with CSC senior managers to discuss how they gave back to the community.
This summer, the interns supported Boys and Girls Club of Delaware, Exceptional Care for Children, Charity Water, and several other organizations. Click here to learn more about how CSC gives back in various communities.
Since 2011, hundreds of interns have learned the ins and outs of business in our program. They’ve received hands-on experience, networked with experts in their fields, and kick-started their careers during the 10-week program, which runs from June to August. Applications for the 2026 program will open in December and be available through mid-January.
